Announcing a Special Issue of the IEEE Transactions
on Plasma Science
for Selected Papers from the
23rd Symposium on Fusion Engineering (SOFE 2009)
(Scheduled for February 2010)
The next biennial Symposium on Fusion Engineering (SOFE 2009) will be held on May 31 ~ June 5, 2009, in San Diego, California in conjunction with the 36th International Conference on Plasma Science (http://cer.ucsd.edu/icopssofe09/). The Symposium covers engineering and scientific advances in both inertial confinement and magnetic confinement fusion, with attendees from major fusion energy research centers worldwide. It is one of the most important conferences in this field.
The objective of this Special Issue is to bring the most up-to-date developments reported at SOFE 2009 to the readership of IEEE Transactions of Plasma Science. Although SOFE 2009 will publish its own proceedings, this Special Issue will be restricted to manuscripts that are substantially revised and lengthened from those of the SOFE proceedings. These manuscripts will undergo standard peer-review process typical for all IEEE Transactions and Journals.
The manuscript submission deadline is June 29, 2009. Authors should submit their completed manuscripts to the IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science electronic submission and review website, http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tps-ieee.
This Special Issue will be restricted to SOFE 2009 attendees only and will cover the following topics, the same as the conference:
