Announcing a Special Issue of the
IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science
on the
Physics of Dusty Plasmas
(Scheduled for April 2010)

The IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science will have a special issue "Physics of Dusty Plasmas" to be published April 2010 that will cover the most recent developments in the field of dusty plasmas. The issue will include papers presented at the 12th Workshop on the Physics of Dusty Plasmas to be held 18-20 May 2009, in Boulder, Colorado (http://wpdp.colorado.edu).

Topics will include laboratory, theoretical and computational studies of

• astrophysical and solar system dust,
• lunar dust levitation and transport,
• dust in the ionosphere,
• dust in industrial plasmas,
• dust charging processes,
• plasma crystals,
• strong coupling and phase transitions,
• dusty plasma waves and instabilities,
• magnetic field effects,
• particle growth and coagulation,
• electrical discharges in dust storms and volcanic plumes,
• dusty plasma diagnostic tools,
  
• dust in fusion devices.
  

This issue continues the tradition of special issues that includes April 1994, 2001, 2004 and 2007.

The manuscript submission deadline is 30 June 2009.

All papers will undergo standard peer-review process typical for all IEEE Transactions and Journals.
